Designed for professional bathers, groomers, and stylists, this course series is all about safety, sanitation, organization and maintenance policies and procedures required in the salon to create a safe place for pets and the salon team. To be a specialist on salon safety to prevent incidents in the workplace, all bathers, groomers and stylists must must have manuals, checklists, posters and signs to assist in studying, remembering and practicing safety, sanitation, organization and maintenance policies and procedures. know and practice all policies and procedures for each task area, all policies and procedures for products and supplies, and all , supplies via manuals with check lists, to set the standards required to create and maintain a safe, sanitized and organized salon environment.

Salon for Man's Best Friend
You will discuss with your team leader and classmates how to create a safe environment in all task areas to achieve excellent safety, sanitation, organization, and maintenance policies, and procedures. Policies on how, when, where, and why to sanitize tools and equipment and the importance of product knowledge, safety and organization will be discussed. You and your classmates will learn policies and procedures for pet monitoring, placing and removing pets in and out of kennels, and why pets should never be left unattended in the bathing station or on a grooming table.
Safety, Sanitation, Organization, and Maintenance
You will discuss with your instructor and classmates why, when, where, and how to organize, sanitize, and maintain your task areas with daily, weekly, and monthly procedures using charts and checklists. You will learn how to create and conduct emergency and severe weather policies and procedures for your own salon.

Hands-On Practical - Written Test
1 Hour (Time Frame May Extend Due to Number of Participants)
The class will be tested on when, where, and why to sanitize tools and equipment as well as product knowledge and pet monitoring policies. You and your class will perform salon policies and procedures for receiving and presenting a pet, transporting a pet, placing and removing pets in and out of the kennel, and from the grooming table and bathing station.

You and your classmates will practice applying policies and procedures to create a safe environment in all task areas, to achieve excellent safety, sanitation, organization, and maintenance policies and procedures using daily, weekly and monthly checklists. The class will also practice and take a test in emergency and severe weather policies and procedures.
